You have to check these guys out - called 2Cellos. Yes, they are rock cello players - rock cellists, if you will. It's two guys from Croatia - Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser - that can do some wild stuff on the cello. So log on here, and find the video for Thunderstruck. Great stuff.
Bagpipes With an Attitude
Have you ever heard of "Bagrock" - No? Well you gotta check these guys out - The Red Hot Chili Pipers - and yes, you read that correctly.
A few days ago my wife, who works coordinating fund raising efforts for the local public television station, came home and told me about an act that had recently come to her attention. What she does is try to dovetail some fund raising in with various acts that pass through town. Anyway, this group was called The Red Hot Chili Pipers, and of course, the first thing I said was "what?"
Yep, The Red Hot Chili Pipers - a rock band that features rock bagpipes. Don't believe me? Check out their website here, or go to Youtube and watch a few videos. I recommend the song "Thunderstruck." Yea, Bagpipes With an Attitude.
Unfortunately, they are not coming through our town in the near future - so no backstage passes for me - pity.
A Bit of Self-Aggrandizement
OK, so maybe it a little pat on my own back, but I recently had an article published in MG Enthusiast magazine about my MG Midget. That's my yellow Midget on the cover. Cheers!
The Moss Motors Motoring Challenge 2016
I just signed up for The Moss Motors Motoring Challenge 2016 - sort of a visual scavenger hunt to encourage folks to get out and drive their cars. Of course, Moss is mostly about British cars, but the Miata (oh stop groaning) is allowed, too. I will try to do most of the Challenge in my MG Midget, but may pick up a couple of points driving my Miata.
If you plan on taking part, drop me a line and update everybody on your progress.

Have fun and send pictures - Cheers!
Pub Photographs Saved From London Skip
I recently saw this on the BBC:
An "irreplaceable" archive of photographs of some of the country's most striking public houses that was nearly lost to posterity forever has been made available to the public.
The images, which depict pubs run by the once-mighty London-based Charrington Brewery, were rescued from a skip by Robert Humphreys, where they had been dumped as the company moved offices a quarter of a century ago.
The brewery grew from humble beginnings in the 18th Century to own pubs across the country, many of which were thoroughly documented in regular surveys.
More than 3,000 photographs were rescued by Mr Humphreys, at the time an area manager for the brewery, and taken to the former Bass Museum, now the National Brewery Centre, in Burton-upon-Trent for safekeeping.
This is a great story, with some great photos. For more click here
By the way - a "skip" is a dumpster, over here. Cheers!
